Lavanya Rathan, daughter of M. S. Rathnasabapathy & M.R. Thenmozhi born on September 15, 1992.
Her mother wanted her little angel to learn classical art and excel in it. Out of this desire a classical dancer was born. Lavanya started her dance classes when she was 4 on Vijayadasami day and the rest as they say is history.
Lavanya initially was under the tutelage of Kalaimamani Shri S kameswaran and Smt saroja Kameswaran and completed the most important Salangai Pooja under their blessings.
Though it was her mother’s wish that made her start learning, Lavanya has sustained her interest in dancing through her own unflinching dedication and passion towards the art form.
She has grown in stature and is now currently learning the finer aspects of classical dancing from Smt. K. Mahalakshmi and Shri. G. Narendra who hold their pupil in the highest regard.
Lavanya’s dance has been a treat to many eyes and her continued passion for other forms of dance has kept her head and shoulders above her peers.
Her ambition is to continue learning other forms of dance and to someday become a world renowned artist. That she feels will be a fitting tribute to her mother.
